Assisted Listening devices (ALD):

  1. They improve the speech signal over a distance. As sound travels, it fades in intensity and becomes overpowered by background noise.
  2. Filters out background noise and allows the speech signal to be heard.
  3.  Poor listening environments. ALD will help eliminate reverberation and distortion which occurs in poor acoustic environments.
  4. Provides alternative ways to alert an individuals with hearing loss.
